Since she was first elected as the Governor of Yamagata Prefecture in 2009, Governor Yoshimura has contributed to the realization of “Affluent Yamagata” and the “Local Revitalization of Yamagata” among other agenda by promoting industries through advanced research and development, creating jobs through attracting businesses, and establishing a comprehensive support system for the issues of a shrinking, aging population.
