On August 29, Gyeonggi-do Province hosted the 14th Trilateral Friendship Exchange Conference, bringing together Liaoning Province from China and Kanagawa Prefecture from Japan in Suwon, Korea. The primary focus of this conference was to deliberate on matters pertaining to youth and young adult engagement in education, sports, culture, and the arts, all with the overarching theme of fostering friendship among the future generations across these three regions.

Over 40 government officials from the participating regions graced the event, including Vice Governor YEOM Tae-yeong, Vice Governor GAO Tao of Liaoning Province, and KAGAWA Chikako, director of the International Culture and Tourism Bureau of Kanagawa Prefecture.

This Trilateral Friendship Exchange Meeting has been a tradition since its inception in 1996, occurring biennially. The next gathering is scheduled for 2025 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
